“Actually, We Use Your Stuff All the Time”

In this donor update, we want to share some of the encouraging conversations we have recently had with churches. And we'd like to introduce you to the person helping make more of those conversations possible.

A few months ago, we brought Will Fannin on as our Director of Church Partnerships and Marketing. Thanks in large part to the generosity of many of you, Will has now raised his full support and is able to devote all his time to this new role.

His work is centered on a simple goal: connecting Into the Light with churches.

That means Will spends much of his week talking with pastors. He introduces them to our ministry, listens to the needs they are seeing in their congregations, and helps them think through how our resources might serve their people.

Over the past month, two of those conversations have been especially encouraging.

“We Use Your Stuff All the Time”

When Will called a pastor at a church in Richmond, Kentucky, he expected the conversation to follow its usual pattern. He would explain who we are, describe our resources, and think with the pastor on how we might be useful to his church.

But before Will could get very far, the pastor told him, “Actually, we use your stuff all the time. We are very blessed by your resources as a Church.”

Church using Into The Light in large group gathering

The church was already using all three of our main resources—the Into the Light documentary, Tech-Safe, and Parenting and Pornography. The pastor described them as a cornerstone of the church’s discipleship on pornography. . . And we had no idea.

That conversation gave us a glimpse of something your support has helped make possible. Our resources are serving churches we do not always hear about. This organic growth is very encouraging to us.

Helping Churches Act Earlier

Will also spoke with a pastor in Oklahoma City who wants his church to take a proactive approach to pornography.

He does not want only the pastors and trained counselors to know how to help. He wants his whole church to know how help one another in this area. He especially wants parents to be prepared before pornography has already taken root in the home.

Too often, he explained, the pastors do not hear from parents until after something has already cropped up. He wants to help families sooner.

When Will told him about Parenting and Pornography, he was thrilled. He planned to go through it with his family and the other pastors on staff, then consider how they could incorporate it into the life of the church.

That is exactly the kind of connection we hoped Will’s role would create: a pastor names a real discipleship need, and we can place a biblical resource in his hands.

We are grateful to have Will on the team. His work is helping us move beyond creating resources to building relationships with the churches that use them. It is another sign of God’s kindness in growing our team and allowing us to invest more time and ministry funds in helping churches put these resources into practice.

Please Pray with Us

  1. Please pray for Will as he continues reaching out to churches. Pray that he would have more encouraging conversations with pastors, learn how churches are already using our work, and introduce our resources to congregations that have not yet found them.

  2. Please also pray for Jacob and his wife as they prepare to welcome their daughter very soon.

  3. Finally, pray for Josh Lovett as he raises support to join our team as the Director of Operations. Josh will help us build stronger ministry systems, including the Integrity Plan. Through partnerships with seminaries and sending agencies, we hope this initiative will help train pastors and missionaries who are prepared to walk in integrity and serve others faithfully.

We regularly pray for you, our donors, and we would be glad to pray more specifically. If there is something happening in your life that we can bring before the Lord, please send us your prayer request.

Thank you for your generosity toward us. Your support is helping these resources reach churches. And sometimes, we get the joy of discovering that they arrived long before we did.

I am beyond grateful for Into The Light Ministries! By God's Grace, I am five months clean of pornography and have experienced radical change through the gospel. The Lord mightily used Into The Light to help walk me through my struggles with porn and find new freedom. I am praising God for your ministry!

Your documentary Into The Light has been such a solid and extremely helpful resource in my marriage. We have been through some extremely deep waters when it comes to pornography. This resource has been so impactful. God has used it in mighty ways, and we are telling our friends about it. Thank you!

After watching the Parenting and Pornography series, I now feel like I have a good foundation to begin having educated, practical and well thought out discussions with my kids around the issues of sexuality, marriage, and pornography!

Thank you for the Parenting and Pornography series. You gave me practical help not only in teaching my kids but also in understanding and fighting my own habitual sins. Thank you for using your skill in words to serve, Lord willing, generations of Christians.

Sitting in Justin Early’s episodes were like being in a bootcamp for technological preparedness with children. In a world of seeming technological ubiquity with all of its worries, we felt better prepared to help our kids think through using technology in a way that glorifies God.
