Thank you for your partnership with Into The Light. We are grateful for your support and regularly pray for you. This month, we’d like to share a few updates about the people involved in the ministry, how we’re thinking about the resources we’re creating, and how you can pray for us.
First, we have an exciting update regarding the leadership of Into The Light. We recently added two new board members: Patrick Hulehan, a fractional CFO based in Washington, D.C., and Dylan Eagle, who serves in leadership at Reaching & Teaching.
We’re thankful to have these men serving on our board. The Into The Light board is one of those behind-the-scenes components of the ministry that is incredibly important. They provide guidance, oversight, and direction for the projects we take on. We’re very grateful for the wisdom they bring to our work.
We also always enjoy sharing testimonies of how the Lord is using the ministry. Recently, John-Michael received a text from a friend whose church has been using the Into The Light documentary:
“Quote block, scripture block."
Romans 1:1
This testimony captures exactly what we often pray for. Our desire is that the resources we produce and make freely available would multiply the pastoral work happening in local churches. We are encouraged when we hear stories like this, and we are praying for more fruit like it.
As we continue to think about the future of Into the Light, we're increasingly focused on helping entire churches address sexual sin, not only individuals. Pornography is often experienced as a personal struggle, and we want to create resources that help people in that struggle. That's why we aspire to build a suite of resources that helps whole churches. We want to see churches raise up helpers, equip members to disciple one another, and create cultures where these conversations happen regularly. The freedom of an individual Christian is often tied to the health of the body around them. That's why we're committed to serving not only individuals, but entire churches.
We want churches to move along a pathway of growth together. For some churches, that may mean simply beginning the conversation. For others, it may mean training helpers so that counseling and discipleship do not fall solely on pastors. For still others, it may mean developing resources and rhythms that equip members to care for one another and address these issues in regular, repeatable ways.
As a ministry, we're planning measure success by whether we’re helping churches move along that pathway. Different resources serve different purposes. The documentary may be an excellent tool for starting the conversation, while workbooks, counseling podcasts, and other resources may help churches take the next step. We're creating tools that serve churches at every stage of that journey.
As you pray for us this month, please pray that churches would continue to grow in addressing sexual sin with honesty and biblical wisdom. Pray that church members would be equipped to disciple one another well. And pray that the Lord would provide abundantly for Into The Light so that we can continue producing resources that serve churches effectively.
Thank you again for your partnership in this work.
